You'll need a windows CD to reinstall windows, if you haven't got one anymore you can contact microsoft or buy one in the shops

Your question is somewhat confusing to me. Is "this package" which you are trying to uninstall Ubuntu Linux? Or some other piece of software?

(1) If you are trying to remove Ubuntu Linux:

It sounds like you need to purchase a copy of Microsoft Windows, and then install it on your computer.

Microsoft Windows is proprietary commercial software, so you need to pay for it. Either that, or find your original Windows CD and "product key" and use those.

(2) If not:

If, on the other hand, you are trying to use Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and other applications under Ubuntu Linux, that is a completely different issue. You may be trying to use application software intended for use under Microsoft Windows? Please let us know how you are trying to download and install software?

In Ubuntu, one simple way to add or remove software is to click on the "Applications" menu item and then on "Add/Remove...".

I'm sure that if you can write a single clear question, a clearer answer can be written to help you.

Apologies for the confusion. I will contact Microsoft direct.
As regards point 2 I want to install Yahoo Messenger and Msn Messenger Sage Software and also Train simulation software I have purchased. All these worked perfectly on Windows but no here. Everytime I try and install programmes I get the error message mentioned in question at the top of the page. Alos I have tried to download a service pack as directed by microsoft and also Freespire software. This system does not it appears want to accept any kind of downloads so it seems to me to be a pointless operating system If any one has any ideas Let me Know
Also is there a unit that deals with this outside of the forums?

Generally speaking, you cannot run software written and compiled for Microsoft Windows in Ubuntu. You cannot run software written and compiled for Ubuntu in Microsoft Windows.

Software and support you get from Microsoft will be for software that runs under Microsoft Windows.

If you want to run Microsoft Windows software, buy a copy of Microsoft Windows and install it.
