Wrong colors when ATI driver installed/running

Asked by Stefan

I am running Ubuntu 7.04.

When I have the ATI-drivers installed and running all videos i tested, except ogg-theora, is showing with wrong colors, it seems like the negative of the actual colors. As soon as i deactivate the ATI-driver and restart X the Videos will show correctly.

I chose the drivers Ubuntu offered me after the first boot, i did not download other packages and play arount with xorg.conf.

There is not a refresh info. Do you have a ATI pannel installed into your O.S. ???
Which motinor resolution do you have now ???

I have Resolution 1400x1050.

As far as i know i doen't have an ATI pannel installed. I just used the proprietary-driver dialogue and then restarted.

This section seems to trigger the problem.

disabling it I can restore the correct color, but at the same time lose 3D-accelleration. Seems to be a bug in the driver itself.
