Ubuntu 8.0.4 LTS Installation

How do I disable my Gateway Solo 9500 Laptop built-in graphics card drivers to install Ubuntu 8.0.4 (Hardy Heron) ?

The laptop keeps shutting down, while trying to install from the LiveCD. I can only use the laptop starting up in the Safe Graphics Mode to run and use the LiveCD.

Tried more than once to install and either the laptop would shut down during the Normal CD startup, or if after the CD loaded up, then I would be seeing double images, mouse arrow etc.

Gajim is a jabber client. If you want to connect to Yahoo IM in ubuntu, you should use something like Pidgin which can handle Yahoo IM, AIM, Jabber and a lot of other services.
