How to unmount USB volume in Kubuntu 8.10?

Asked by Dave Haring

Hello. Tried Kubuntu 8.10. Needed to access my usb flash drive while running it. That went fine. In Ubuntu 8.10 you just right click on the desktop icon and choose "Unmount" to get out of it. How to do this in Kubuntu 8.10? I looked and looked. Thanks!

Kubuntu 8.10 needs drivers in order to unmount a USB drive? It is not included?

Note: I was running Kubuntu 8.10 from a Live CD.

Thank you.

No, not drivers ... but all removable devices need to have a mount point specified.

This is automatic in Ubuntu (even when using the Live CD).

Perhaps in Kubuntu it only happens when installed.
