saving wep key

Asked by Pete

Each time I turn on my computer, my wireless network is found and I am prompted for my wep key. Is there a way for me to save it so my connection is automatic? I have been unable to find it.

Also (but much less important to me) after clicking connect, I recieve anther prompt to "unlock keyring". I don't know what it is, I don't have a password for it and I just click deny. Everything works after that, but I'd like to know what it is.
Thanks,
Pete

By unlocking keyring you can access saved passwords (including your WEP key) and I believe that you are always asked for your WEP key just because you are denying prompt to unlock keyring.

You can find more about keyring here - https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/614
