Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

How come you converted your own bug report in to a question? Could you please specify exactly what steps you take to experience that warning? It is difficult to help you without understanding under what context you experience the warning

I experience right the same.
This is how the complete message looks like:
"Gnome-WARNING **: invalid gnome config path '=/section/key'
GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.18.2/gobject/gsignal.c:1152: unable to lookup signal "show" of unloaded type `GtkMessageDialog' at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 54, <> line 1.
GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_add_emission_hook: assertion `signal_id > 0' failed at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 54, <> line 1.
Gnome-WARNING **: invalid gnome config path '=/section/key'
GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.18.2/gobject/gsignal.c:1152: unable to lookup signal "show" of unloaded type `GtkMessageDialog' at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60, <> line 1.
GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_add_emission_hook: assertion `signal_id > 0' failed at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60, <> line 1."

The message appeared first right when upgrading to Ubuntu studio 8.04->8.10 via "softwaresources->Enable normal releases" and "upgrade manager"; on 8.10 package install stage within upgrader.

This message persisted several dozen times as different packages were installed.
Nevertheless upgrade was performed successfully.

Now I get this message when I try to install ANY new packages within synaptic or apt-get install. For example gnome-commander.

Upgrade also messed up user rights, so I cannot su root at all and Im also unable to call Gnome-System-Monitor(via monitor panel gadgets)-> I get instant unrecoverable system freeze(switching to tty doesnt work). Hopefully this can be related.

Can you help with this problem?
