installed 8.10 on new disk, lost floppy?

after installing 8.10 from a distribution CD to a empty HDD, I lost access to the floppy drive. The BIOS knows it is there. How can I recover without reinstalling?

No is it lost, The 8.10 is not installed floppy by default.
Open a Terminal and command:

sudo modprobe floppy

a) if, you need a permanet installation edit this file (do not erase the contents):

gksudo gedit /etc/modules

b) Inster into archive this two lines:

# To load floppy module
floppy

c) Save the changes.
