Help burning 8.10 ISO to CD

Asked by Dave Haring

Hello. I have 8.04 and just downloaded the 8.10 ISO to desktop. I am hoping 8.10 might fix some of my issues.

The instructions say to right click on the icon and choose "write to disc". Did that . Fine. The instructions say to choose the slowest speed etc. That's fine too. The instructions do not however mention the line on there that reads "Write disc to"... Isn't that backwards? Are we not writing *to* the disk? Not writing the *disc* to something? Either way I guess. Anyway there's two choices on that line. One is "BD-MLT UJ-210S", (which, might as well say "kakfuygaskfjaksujyfgkauhsgfkashutf",) :) and the other choice is "File image". Which one of these do I want? "Write disc to file image" doesn't seem to make sense as a choice.

Thanks for your time.

Hey illegalnature,

Quote: The instructions say to right click on the icon and choose "write to disc". Which instructions are you following? Which application are you using?

Thank you Sir. I've been with Bill for 22 years and started running Ubuntu exclusively 48 hours ago. The instructions are from Ubuntu

Oh, and I don't know what application I'm using either since it doesn't say. Whatever comes with 8.04 I guess. The instructions say right click and choose write to disc. So whatever application that effects. That's as far as I got! Thanks again...

the option BD-MLT UJ-210S is probably your CD-Writer Drive. Go for it

Yes! Thank you! Had it said it was the CD drive in the first place... :)
