Hibernate/Suspend won't wake up-Ubuntu8.1

Asked by richf

Whenever I try to Hibernate/Suspend my HP pavilion DV6704NR laptop, it fails to wake up and I have to remove the battery to get it to shut off. I have tried both Nvidia 173/177 drivers. Nothing works.
I also dual boot with Vista and Hibernate/Suspend works fine there.

Any help is appreciated.

Ubuntu 8.04 acted the same way.

Thank you.

Hibernate /Suspend are hard to troubleshoto and get right when they don't work out of th box.

I'd try looking in the forums, and searching Google with your exact PCI ID and Description + "Hardy" or "Intrepid".

If you card description doesn't show up in lspci ouput, update the descriptions with:
sudo update-pciids

Good luck
