You can use mencoder. The commandline parameters are aplenty, you might need to go walk through some tutorials to get it right.
Mencoder has a page on converting for PSP viewing:

They've also released the trasncoder source under the LGPL,
which you can grab over at sourceforge and use in your own transcoding project.

Appreciate your coaching. I did able to download and install the flv2mpeg4 eventually from Softpedia.

After I installed, I did see program addition to the Applications menu. Anywhere I can find the instruction how to do the conversion by using this flv2mpeg4?

Much thanks.

Did you get a resolve to your issue yet?
Are you using a system with Ubuntu OS primarily?
There is a neat app available as shareware "videora" that automatically converts you tube videos to mp4 format while downloading. I don't however know if it will work on the Ubuntu platform.

You can try iSquint, but it has been discountinued, and no more upgrade.
FFMPEG is a good converter.
If you are a mac user, I recommend this video converter for mac, it converts all sorts of popular video formats such as FLV, MOV, AVI, MTS, M2TS, MKV, MOD, WMV, ASF, MPEG, MP4, 3GP, 3G2, MPEG TS/TP (for HD Video) from one to another.

Can you help with this problem?
