How to Update ubuntu 8.04 to ubuntu 8.10 from live cd?

I have already installed Ubuntu 8.04 lts version under Windows XP, now I want to update it to Ubuntu 8.10 version from livecd. How I can do it, please tell me the necessary steps to update my ubuntu 8.04 to ubuntu 8.10 version.

my experience says it is not going to work
better upgrade it if you have a internet connection on normal 2 Mbps line it takes 45-50 Mins and thereafter you are not worried about this or that.
I had burned the live cd also and then it was not upgrading then resorted to the above method , I forgot you have use update manager and use the repository or netherlands its speed goes upto 200 kbps or more and in case you want to use indian server then use iitm.
