Samba mount error 13 = permission denied => only for other users?
Hello,
I've got a freebsd server which runs samba. This samba share has file permissions and samba permissions "activated". Everything works well on the ubuntu system administrator account( the one where i can use sudo), but not on the other user accounts i've added...
When i do mount /home/bram/nas with the user bram everything is fine, but for the user i get:
mount error 13: Permission denied
Check the mount.cifs(8) manual page
I've done this more about this later, first some info:
[CODE]bram@

Here is a comparization of the two users:

As you can see, everything is the same? I've also tried to activate some more user rights in users/groups but that doesn't help...
I did search after another solution and found that the nounix option could help..but still the same error :(
I really don't get the issue...maybe it is a bug? I
and yes, I've read [URL="http://
I can also read in the cifs page that when using the option user it tries to apply the user on currently logged in...the user option in my fstab is for my ubuntu so that every user can mount it...and the credentials are used to specify the samba user. Maybe there is going something wrong there?
It must be some kind of a permission but i really can't find which one :(

change the "user" option of your fstab file to "users"

i've tried this..still the same error:
katia@katia-
mount error 13 = Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

I think this is related to this bug:
https:/
when i use sudo mount -a /home/laura/nas i can mount the samba share :s...how is that working?

when you mount in fstab, try adding the options:
uid=YOUR-
the nounix option makes it so that unix file information isnt transferred over though, which will make some things not work (like rsync).

Harrison, like mentioned in my first post. I use my local uid en gid on ubuntu, and i've tried the nounix option too...
So this isn't (sadly enough) gonna help me :(
