Can I use all webcams with ubuntu 8.10

The best way to proceed would be to post the name and model of the webcam that you want to buy and ask if it will work with Ubuntu.

There are many webcams available for purchase but some will not have drivers available for use in Ubuntu. Many Logitech webcams will work (but not all of them).
