Which external DVD drives are best to use with the Linux system?

I'm all new to this system - previously a Windows user - I have an Elonex Webbook & need an external dvd rw drive to install a number of applications - please can anyone tell me which one is best to buy & if I need additional drivers & if so how to install them?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It really doesn't matter, because all they do the same thing. Before you buy, find some reviews (preferably user reviews) for the model you're buying to make sure it doesn't have any problems.
