Asked by Gizmo_ADM

Based on Intrepid Ibex 8.10,
Terminal query: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get update
returns: E: Type '¨deb' is not known on line 54 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list

How to fix?
Thanks for your advice.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

You need to remove the ¨ in line 54 of /etc/apt/sources.list. If that doesn't work please post your /etc/apt/sources.list.

As this seems to be not a bug but a configuration issue I've converted it into a question.

Hi,

You probably made a mistake by copying and pasting something in your source list. Just open the /etc/apt/sources.list file (for instance, type "sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list" in a terminal) and correct the problem on line 54.

Hope this helps!
