firefox, shut down, tomboy etc problems after new update install

Asked by ndel

Just installed new updates (I really don't know what they were, I just install them when ubuntu says they are important), restarted and now things don't work any more. Can't open Tomboy. Firefox always wants to restore a previous session when opened, lost all bookmarks, can't restore the backup bookmarks and back arrow doesn't work. Also, when I want to shut down Ubuntu, all taskbars disappear but nothing shuts down. That's only what I found so far. I hope I didn't lose my notes and bookmarks. What can I do?

What version of Ubuntu do you have? Can you provide us with the output of the dmesg command?

Open Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal, and type this:

dmesg > dmesg.txt

Put the content of dmesg.txt here.

Copied the command but doesn't give me anything
xxx@xxx-laptop:~$ dmesg > dmesg.txt
xxx@xxx-laptop:~$

There should be a dmesg.txt file in your home directory, if not, just type "dmesg" in the Terminal and copy the output here.

I figured it out. I didn't have enough space on my filesystem after the update.
Thanks for your help, Guillermo
