keyboard and mouse dont work in GUI

My Logitech USB KB and Mouse worked during installation, and work in the terminal. But dont work in the GUI. Ctrl-Alt-Dlt will restart it though and Alt-Tab-F1 will go to terminal where i can log in and everything. Ive tried reinstalling Ubuntu Desktop twice and still no luck. New to linux, have no idea what to try.

It sounds as though there is an issue with how they are being detected by the X server.

Since your mouse and keyboard are USB devices can you post the results of the following terminal command:

lsusb

The previous post is if you are running 8.04 or older...

If you are running 8.10 you can also try to do the following at your command prompt:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup

8.10 now uses input-hotplug instead of X-Org settings for the mouse and keyboard.
