installing Ubuntu on Acer Aspire One (no cd-rom)

Asked by frenchfrog_69

Ubuntu 8.04.1 i386
How can I install it on an Acer Aspire One if there is no CD-Rom and Linpus Linux does not have an ISO extractor.
I have put the ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386.iso file on a USB memory stick. I then tried to boot from USB but no success. I then tried to extract the file onto a USB memory stick followed by booting from USB... no success either.

Thanks Guys
Remy
