sudo apt-get update hang on 99% [Waiting for Headers]

Asked by Chris Rowson

I just installed Feisty, but when I try to 'sudo apt-get update' the process hangs when it reaches 99% [Waiting for Headers].

Any ideas would be greatfully received.

Chances are this is due to the servers getting hammered.

What does your sources.list say? Can you paste /etc/apt/sources.list to http://pastebin.ubuntu-uk.org ?

Is that: http://pastebin.ubuntu-uk.org/71 ?

If not, can you give the paste number, or a link?

Alan was right - it was the sources getting hammered that was causing the problem. It has self-rectified
