How to copy all the repositories that are downloaded online in a CD or any removable media for further updating a system or required when using the same system post formatting and reinstallation of ubuntu.

When reformatting and reinstalling everything, I suggest you do the following things.

Backup your Home directory and your /etc/apt/sources.list file

Then create a backup list of all the packages you have installed so they can easily be reinstalled. Here is a good guide on how to do it. Remember to restore you sources.list before trying to reinstall your packages.
