Intrepid fails on Hpt302N

Asked by Tim

Since I upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10 Intrepid fails on detecting the Highpoint controller 302N it loads pata_hpt37x instead.
Using modprobe wont work either and it seems there are a few more people having this problem:

Is this a known Issue ? Is there a workaround ?

This still happens when I boot of the Live-CD

With Kind regards,
Tim

Same problem here - nothing in the dmesg output
tried modprobe with pata_hpt366 with no success
old version driver /ide/pci/hpt366.ko have disappeared.

Any news ?

After diging a bit in the Kernel sources, there seems to be a driver pata_hpt3x2n but this one is not build in the standard ubuntu kernel.
I will try to rebuild a kernel with this driver and see if it works.

And don't worry, it will be cool again ;)
