muted sound

the sound is muted and if i want to look videos the sound is very quiet.

i am sorry, i am a noob and if i search the results are too old.

First: You entered "german" as language for this question, so you could have asked your question in german :-) . In case that was an accident, I will change the language to english and try to answer so.

First, make sure your system-sound isn't muted: right-click on the speaker at the top, "Muted" (in german "Stummschalten") should not be checked.
Then double-click on the speaker, the alsa soundmixer (?) will show up. While playing a video play around with the bars for the different channels to find out, which ones have an effect (maybe e.g. "PCM" has one?) If none of the displayed channels do what you want, you can display more channels by pressing the "Configure" (in german "Einstellungen") and try these...
