ACPI-Support on Toshiba Notebooks (here Satellite Pro P100)

Asked by A03966

Hi,

I need a little help for my Notebook. I use Ubuntu 8.10 and everything works fine (only Keyboard in VMware Workstation 6.5 doesn`t support all keys in German). But the Notebook will be very hot after a few hours. I cannot set any parameters of the fan, because the Toshiba-acpi-support is not available in Ubuntu 8.10.

Can anybody help me?

Greetings
Michael

Please file a bug report and attach the following information to the bug report as *separate* attachments:
    * Output of uname -a
    * Output of sudo lspci -vvnn
    * Output of sudo dmidecode
    * Output of dmesg after booting
Thank you!

It may help to add "noacpi apm=off acpi=off no-hlt" to the #kopt line in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file (see http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-15856.html)
