Cannot open XPW and other files from windows

I have both operating systems Ubunto and XP windows. Now I cannot start XP windows
when I enter .

If you are unable to boot WinXP please go into ubuntu and open a terminal from Application-> Accessories-> Terminal and type

sudo fdisk -lu
cat /boot/grub/menu.lst

Please tell.... (copy/paste) the output of these commands.

sud password. What should I enter for password.

You should type in your regular login password. You will not see anything when you type it. When you are done typing, press enter.
