Lang Syntax = mine
syntax("Intrepid Ubuntu 8.10") { QUICK EXPLAIN = What's at Issue }
nm-applet on startup != connectivity
nm-applet.sys == Ubuntu 8.10
User IFCONFIG ( eth0, lo ){
eth0 (ifdown, ifup, ifconfig) {
IFDOWN lo
IFCONFIG eth0 {
eth0 = various LAN addresses, masks, etc., known to be true
}
}
User IFUP ( lo ) {}
if ( eth0 == ping NETWORK ADDRESS == TRUE ) {

}
} // END - Connectivity Established

THE /REAL/ QUESTION:
In human terms: How can i get around having to use IFCONFIG manually any time i wish to gain network connectivity, as nm-applet will not produce desired result on startup
