how to configure DNS for education purpose, to analyze the query reply of DNS?

I am a student of Bachelor! DNS is our next topic to study in this semester. So for that reason I required to stydy the query reply of DNS. So i'm want your experience how it shall be done to work, to complete the our desire requirement.
whether i configure the DNS server or their is any other option avaible?

Bind9 is a fantastic DNS server. Configuring one in Linux doesn't really teach you much though.

If you want to learn about DNS there are plenty of online sources of information.

Remember, the issue in any IT situation is nearly always down to DNS.
