.PST File Decrypting

Asked by Kyle Brady

Anyone know how to take an encrypted .PST file (the export of an Inbox for a user in any Microsoft email system), and decrypt it? I have the encrypted password files, and also the encrypted .PST files.... but I can't find anything on the Internet that gives any suggestions or help.

The reason I ask is because I'm moving an email system from MS Exchange to Google Apps for Your Domain, and need to have the old emails available.

Thanks for any help!

Not quite sure how that's an Ubuntu question...

You are probably better off installing Mozilla Thunderbird on the Windows machine, and use the import facility to get the mail into that. The mail will then be held in a nice open format which should be much easier to import to Google.

It's an Ubuntu question because I use Ubuntu, and *nix users are known for obscure knowledge on the conversion and decrypting of files...

I'll try Thunderbird, but if anyone has a more direct approach, let me know.

Thanks

The following entry in the mozillazine kb (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_.pst_files) says -an I quote-:
If you are running Linux there are several open source utilities to convert .pst files to mbox files such as readpst , libpst and Outport .
where
readpst: http://kontact.kde.org/kmail/tools.php
libpst: http://alioth.debian.org/projects/libpst/Libpst
Outport: http://outport.sourceforge.net/

Once the files are in mbox format you should be able to deal with them in an easier way.

Can you help with this problem?
