Thinkpad T41 sleep problem

Asked by Rick Ohlendorf

Since upgrading to Fiestly (Ubuntu 7.04 beta) my IBM Thinkpad T41 won't come out of sleep mode.
Entering sleep mode by closing the lid or manually entering sleep (Fn+F4) works fine but it won't come on again when opening the lid or tapping any key or command.
Thank you

Running Ubuntu on thinkpad is a bit tricky... Unfortunately I don't have your same model, and workarounds are model-based, so the only think I can suggest you is to give a look here:

Maybe the answer is there alredy :)

I haven't had time to do anything yet but to add more to what I said before:
The sleep mode did work with version 6.10

Version 7.04 is still unstable, so it could be an issue which will be resolved in the near future...

I have the same problem with a T41p with the final version. I'm not sure that this is a unique Ubuntu issue as I had the same problem with CentOS 5, but I'm working on Ubuntu a the moment

@NycSmart1 I have a ThinkPad T41p as well. Strangely enough, sleep worked fine in the late betas. If you ever solve this problem, I'd appreciate knowing how.

Same for me (ThinkPad T41): Hibernate and Suspend to Ram worked fine in Edgy. In Kubuntu 7.04, it seems that the display doesn't properly turn on after resume. Note that it's still possible to log in using ssh, for example.

Can you help with this problem?
