can you add to the next version..

can you implement interrogating a persons videocard and install the latest driver for it on installation? since you are so awesome at simplifying Linux for us new guys.

what would it also take to get Linux recognised as a stable gaming platform?

What do you mean by interrogating? A few releases ago, Ubuntu created the Laptop testing team and spent money on distributing laptops to various parts of the world and the result came out during Ubuntu 6.06 which started a whole now level of laptop support for linux. If gaming support is to be achieved, we will have to work with video card manufacturers, especially NVidia and ATI to perfect the support, even if the said drivers would be non-free. Unfortunately, we need the cooperation of these groups instead of us trying to reverse-engineer a lot of routines.
