how to install java plugin in Hardy x86_64?

Asked by marco.pallotta

How can I install java plugin in Hardy x86_64? I followed official documentation at the URL https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/internet/C/web-browsing.html where you can read that for amd64 computers (I think it referes to x86_64 distros) you have to install "j2re1.4-mozilla.plugin" from multiverse repo but but this app is not present in my multiverse repo.

Am I wrong or is the documentation wrong?

Bhavani, I have realized that firefox already does all I wanted. In fact it automatically proposes the installation of gcj web browser plugin or gcj web browser plugin using openjdk.
Thanks anyway for your replay.
