is it possible upgrading ubuntu 8.10 with torrents ?

i would like to upgrade the hardy heron to intrepid ubuntu 8.10 through torrents as what i found out is my torrents are getting downloaded at over 200 kbps and download speed of main server is 25 kbps to 80 kbps and one server which india is having goes upto 230 kbps but there are missing files so upgrading is not happening.
Is it possible to do it with torrents ?
I have burned the iso image but update manager does not upgrade through it what can be the reason ? and soulution ?
