There should not be any problems with the items for the main computer.

Where you may run into incompatibility problems is in choosing peripherals. I cannot say here what you should or should not buy but I can say that I am happy with my HP printer/scanner and my other two HP printers, my Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1, my Logitech Pro 9000 and that I put my Canon scanner into the garbage bin because there were no drivers available from Canon.
