5.1 sound in ubuntu 8.10

Asked by last_moromete

How to enable 5.1 sound on Ibex? In 8.04 I've solved this by editing the line "default-sample-channel=2" in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf (changing 2 by 6), but that doesn't work on Ibex... I get sound only on four channels (front L-R, center, subwoofer). Thanks!

Hi,

I don't know the answer to your question, but we have a FAQ about sound problems, perhaps you might want to have a look at it?
FAQ #112: “Sound Problems”.

I've searched before posting... I don't understand: I'm the only one with Ibex and 5.1 sound system, or I'm the only one with that kind of troubles?
