you can use gtkpod or hipo... i think gtkpod is excellent......: )

You can use rhythmbox which is included with Ubuntu in the "Sound & video" menu. You could also try installing banshee which is a similar app.

Thank you for response, i've just down loaded ubuntu 8.10 which has amarok i hope this will help matters. regards steve
