Usb Ext3 hard drive mount when connected?

Asked by Roman Polach

In Hardy when I plug FAT formatted USB flash stick, it gets automatically mounted when plugged.
(No manual mounting or fstab editing needed....)

But when I plug Ext3 formatted USB hard drive, it is not mounted at this moment,
so I must mount it manually.
Can I somehow set it to behave just like FAT flash stick?

Does it mount automatically when you open nautilus?

You may want to set a label on the disk. This will make it auto-mount to that label inside of /media/ when it does work.

No it does not mount when I open nautilus and
I cannot see any item related to this drive in nautilus:
not in computer:/// folder nor in side-panel.

Setting label by e2label did not help.

Only way to see it is manual mounting from commandline

This sounds like a bug. Could you please create a bug and link this question to it using the "Link existing bug" option on the right menu?

Thanks
