Ubuntu server installer not recognizing IBM x3550 HostRAID controller

Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) server installer not recognizing IBM x3550 HostRAID controller during setup process. The installer sees the 2 hard disks as separate devices, though it should be seeing just one logical device. The RAID controller appears to be working fine as the BIOS sees 1 logical device. Any help getting the system installed would be appreciated.

How about to try Feisty livecd to see if it works fine with the new kernel ?!
