Thanks for the question.

While it is probably theorethically possible, I am not sure if it is practical. If I remember correctly, you would need to have a motherboard or graphic card with dual graphic adaptor, and you would have to configure two x-servers, that are connected to different keyboards/mice (which might be possible via usb, and its number of ports available).

However, what is possible is to use and an LTSP clients. The ltsp client can be a very cheap low-spec computer because it is used as a dump terminal. All the programs actually run on the other machine (the LTSP server).

Here some more information: http://www.edubuntu.org/

I hope this helps.

erm, depends what you want to achieve, you would get a few conflicts here and there, like the mouse trying to go 2 places at once, and maybe some typing errors.

If you want 2 people to use 2 different profiles, you would need to set up multiple xsessions, this is relativly easy but a few help pages never hurt

hope this helps a bit

Yes, this is a totally great idea. There are schools in the developing world who have from 2 to 8 screens/keyboards/mice per computer. It's a great use of hardware for multiple users.

Here's a product that does it:-

Thanks for everybody for your feedback. Well after looking on the internet, I'm going to chose this hardware : http://www.ncomputing.com/ncomputing/index.php
It supports Ubuntu!
In about a month I'm going to use this system. I'll keep you informed.
