fatal server error while booting from live cd

while trying to from feisty live CD. I've got X fatal server error: no screens found.

it also print out. no matching device section for instance (busID PCI:02:1)
(EE) 1810(0): no video BIOS ... chosesn depth
(EE0 screen(s) found but none have usable configuration.

tried on MSI laptop. model M520.

I've reported it as bug #102462 (there is more info there).
is there some workaround i can do in the mean time until that bug get fixed.
i want to install ubuntu for my father :)

Please attach the full /var/log/Xorg.0.log to that bug report. Try using the "vesa" driver as a workaround.

the system crash after the error so i do not every get a terminal prompt, so i can not supply the file
