java applet doesn't work in firefox 3.0.3.

Asked by antisa

I'm trying to access an e-banking option and when I click on a link that opens the application it opens a smaller firefox window and on the bottom of that window there's a line that says :

Start: applet not initialized

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04.1 64-bit version with installed iced tea, sun java 6 runtime and open jdk java runtime.

Please help!

Hi,

Please uninstall all your installed java runtimes, including iced tea, sun java 6 and open jdk. Then only reinstall the Sun Java 6 runtime and the Sun Java plugin. Close all Firefox windows. Restart just one instance of Firefox.

Then the e-banking java applet might work.

Hope it helps,

Regards,

Mark

Thanks, but what I've learned from various forums, it seems that sun java plugin is not supported on my computer architecture (64-bit) so I guess I'll have to wait for it to be supported or until they make icedtea java plugin better.

Thanks for your time.

Cheers!
