I am wary of using intrepid on my nc6120 because of issues with 7.10 and 8.04. Have you had any issues with these disros like the lcd lid switch? It has plague me and my computer since 7.10 came out. I was able to solve the issues for 7.10 but 8.04 (Gnome and KDE) will not work for me. Does intrepid run well other than the issue you are having?

Also that chipset may be the problem because I always have the correct driver loaded but they neer work correctly.

Hi,

I guess I've found a solution.
There is new (may be isn't new) option in Power Management - Dim screen when idle.

Thanks for your replies.

Andrey.
