TrendNet Wireless

Asked by Steve Schilz

I have successfully installed Xubuntu 6.10 on a Dell Inspiron 1100. Ethernet works fine, but I want to install a TrendNet TEW-421PC wireless adapter (if only because I have it available). I am new to linux and unclear how to utilize exe files to get driver for wireless. I managed to unzip file from TrendNet successfully and found exe. But how to integrate this in the system (?) Can someone point me to post that walks through such a process? I thought I would need Wine but I've had issues configuring the appl to run. On other posts I have seen what may be alternative method but it wasn't very clearly documented. (Perhaps this TrendNet adapter isn't supported?). Any help provided will be appreciated!
