Cannot add/delete applications, disk needed?

Asked by Hendrick

When I try to install a program synaptic/apt-get asks me to put in "Ubuntu Server Hardy Heron"-disk. When I put in the disk the files cannot be found; the progress bar sticks with "download 1 from 23..."
Ik think I had an unfinished installation (indeed, server tools) before. I now don't know which files are installed or not. Is there a way to clean this up?

Open up the System menu, Administration and choose "Software Sources"

Uncheck the checkbox next to the reference to the CD rom.
It's also worth checking the checkboxes related to the Mulitverse and Universe repositories.

Then close it and try "Update Manager" and "Synaptic" again.
