Toshiba Satellite A300 wireless connectivity

It became expired without being answered, but now I found the answer in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/RealtekRTL8187b
I have not tested on my own machine, but will try as soon as I get a cable connection.

I tried Option 1 in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/RealtekRTL8187b on a Toshiba A300 and it worked.

By the way, it was Hardy Heron I used. Option 2 is to undo Option 1 and upgrade to Intrepid Ibex....
