Trying to update my BIOS

ok here is the issue that i have....i need to update my bios my computer is really old and it most likely hasnt been updated before...when i use the UBUNTU SYSINFO program it says my motherboard is a Intel 440BX/ZX/DX however i cant seem to find the right one on there website. My computer is made by Compusa i looked all over there site and still cant find anything....if someone knows of a ubuntu bios updater or you can help me out that would be awsome thank you

I suggest you to open the PC and find out the Motherboard's exact model. Then you'll be able (may be) to search the updated BIOS (if exists) and download an update utility at the vendor's site.

if i went into the bios menu would it tell me?

Probably no. But when you looking at the POST screen, MB model is usually displayed at the left bottom corner of the screen. Try to google this model

pending what your MB specifics are - if it is a GENUINE Intel - then the following url's will help you find all you need -BIOS, drivers etc

the above sites will help you also find/identify exactly your MB model - just read on,
