how to save screen brightness setting in laptop?

at every reboot brightness of my laptop is set to 100 %.
i prefer to keep it at 15 percent.
is there any way to save the settings.

using function keys to adjust brightness only gives three settings for screen brightness.how can i increase it to 5?

try something similar to this from terminal as a super user
echo -n N > /proc/acpi/video/OVGA/DD03/brightness
          where N is a value from 0,10,20,30........100
