no on-screen information about changing the volume

hi i have a laptop with special keys to change the volume (inc,ded, mute)

they are working now, but i have no on-screen information about it - i used to have some time ago

i have 7.04

what should i do?

In System-->Preferences-->Keyboard shortcuts, you will find two there to increase and decrease the volume. Make sure they match the two which you are actually using, since it's those two that give the display.

i use kubuntu, i looked in keyboard shorcuts, but htere is no volume inc/dec shortcut

what should i do now?

Sorry I assumed you were on Ubuntu rather than Kubuntu. To be honest, we're that close to final release, I'd see if it gets fixed then, and perhaps have a read/post at http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=179 Sorry I can't be more help, I am sadly not too familiar with KDE.
