amrnb not installed

i have installed both amrnb as well as amrwb package from the medibintu repo for intrepid.
but while playing amr files the movie player gives the following error

The playback of this movie requires a Adaptive Multi Rate NarrowBand (AMR-NB) decoder plugin which is not installed.

i have restarted the system but still the codec is not being used.

Hi,

I recommend installing ffmpeg from the medibuntu repositories and then trying to play the amr file with lots of different players, including kaffeine, vlc, totem, gxine, kmplayer, etc...

If it still does not work, you can try removing ffmpeg and then compiling ffmpeg using the instructions here:

hi mark, but i'm afraid there is no ffmpeg package (intrepid) in medibuntu yet

That should not be a blocking problem.

As I said before, manishmahabir can try to compile ffmpeg using the instructions here:
