syncing a htc touch / windows mobile pda with ubuntu 8.04 ?

i own a windows mobile 6.1 based htc touch pocket pc. i would love to switch over to ubuntu totally but since i cannot seem to get my pda to sync up at all i have to use vista still. is there a way to be able to solve this issue ? will any future versions of ubuntu resolve this ?

any help or advice would be appreciated.
