Not sure about the sluggishness. Can you give more info on what you notice and how you are measuring the problem.

As for the trojan, it's probably a false positive. It would be rare indeed to have a problem like that in Linux. In fact, Avast could be part of the sluggishness problem. Remove it and see what happens. You can always reinstall it if you really want. However, desktop Linux users don't generally need to use AV.

I'm not sure why your system is slow. I can't think of any driver issues you might have other than maybe graphics. However, without know what you mean by slow it's hard to pinpoint - i.e. slow to redraw windows, slow to boot, slow to open programs, slow to download, mouse is tracking slowly.

I mentioned Avast because you said you had a trojan you can't remove. I said it's probably a false positive so don't worry. I also thought it could be related to the slowness issue as AV software is a bit of a resource hog.

Hey abinash try going to system/preferences/appearance/visual effects , and set it to none and see if that doesn't fix your problem. I am a newb to and had that problem after a reinstall. Hope it works!

Can you help with this problem?
