Acer Aspire 3680 wireless card driver

I have an Acer Aspire 3680 laptop with a Atheros wireless card. Im new to linux and Ubuntu 8.04 is installed on my laptop but i cant get the wireless to work. I have no idea what to do. HELP!!!

Atheros can be used with madwifi drivers.

Do you see a Wireless Network icon in the top right of your screen?
Can you right and left click on it for options?

Also, what is shown when you run the following command in a terminal window (Applications menu, Accessories)

ifconfig

You may also see something relating to an ath module if you run

lsmod | grep wlan
